In past Issues, we've mentioned information about DEBOO from other countries such as Switzerland, Singapore, Italy, and Indonesia. It's a dynamic world out there, and our namesakes continue to pop up and move around. In most cases, however, the information from our 'non-traditional locations' is lean and fleeting - sort of a 'here today, gone tomorrow' situation. Our true and historical strength of occurrence lies in Northwestern Europe, North America, Northwestern India, and Australia. In years past, I've used the Google search engine as an occasional means to finding new information about DEBOO, particularly on global distribution of the name. It's also a good avenue to finding out what namesakes are doing, a way to locating personal websites, and even to discover rare bits and pieces of controversy involving a DEBOO person. The latest browse (15 October 2003) turned up over 7,600 references! It seems to me this list is something like three times longer than the last time I checked. While most of the newly posted sites are from the usual places, I've found unspectacular mention of DEBOO in countries like Denmark and Hungary. Yes, no discovery of DEBOO in China or Chile yet. Just a bit disappointing, but not discouraging…and, yes, we'll keep on browsing Google, Alta Vista and other helpful sources.
